
O’Leary, Aileen Mary (Hoganson) 86, of Bedford/Lakeview, passed away peacefully on September 15th, 2011, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Aileen was born in Halifax, December 13, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Gerald and Leota (Stevens) Hoganson. Aileen attended St-Patrick’s Girls School in Halifax and served in the Canadian Woman’s Army Corps during WWII from 1943 to 1945. She was a member of the Ladies Suburban Bowling League, and past president of the LWF Ladies Auxiliary. Aileen was a devoted and caring wife and mother who is survived by her children Sandra (Jack) Burgess, Fall River, Charleen (Mike) Ades, Tantallon, Michael (Cindy) Doha, Qater, Charles Brian (Dominique) Montreal, Debbie and Kathy O’Leary, Sackville and chosen son Al Hoganson, New Jersey, USA; grand children Daryl Burgess, Robin (Mark) Gavan, Scott (Louise) Burgess, Tiana Calnan, Erica (Brian) Cymbaluk, Kevin (Michele) Shelton, Cara and Shauna Marie O’Leary, Vincent and Beatrice O’Leary, Savana and Adam Kay; and thirteen great grandchildren. Brother Gerald (Marg) Hoganson, sisters, Marion Hoganson, Ottawa, Dottie (Talim) Ibrahim, Bedford. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles O’Leary and her first husband Alexander MacDonald, sisters Dorothy (Firby) LeVatte, Marie (Jack) McKinnon, Claire Hoganson, and Jeanne Hoganson. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 10 am Tuesday September 20th in St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. A reception will follow in the church.
