<div itemprop="description">Beaton, Ernie&rdquo; Ernest Alexander age 84 of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary QE11 with his family at his side. Born in PEI, he was the youngest son of the late, Alexander &amp; Nellie (Hubley) Beaton. He was a charter member of the Lions Club, member of the Sackville Legion and one of the original organizers of Sackville Ringette, which he sponsored for years. He owned several Harleys over the years and enjoyed his travels on them. Many Saturday nights were spent playing music with his band. During retirement you would find Ernie working on his model railway with his friend Bob Gibb. Ernie operated the Esso service station on Sackville Drive, for ten years then moved the towing company to Sackville Cross Roads where he built and operated Beaton&rsquo;s Auto Service. He later relocated the towing to the Old Sackville Road where it operated until his retirement and the business was sold. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley, daughter, Lorri (Dave Mackey) of Lower Sackville, sons, Graham (Brenda) of Ottawa, Paul (Leslie) of Lower Sackville. Grandchildren, Zachary, Emilie and Jacob. Sister, Marie of USA. One niece and four nephews, sister-in-law, Linda Bezanger (Bob Burns), brothers-in-law, Eldon (Sadie), Raymond (Mona) Bezanger. He was predeceased by sister, Ruth, brother, Malcolm and a niece. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, where visitation will take place 2-4 7-9 Monday April 14th, 2014. Celebration of life to follow Tuesday April 15th, 2014 at 1pm in Knox United Church, Lower Sackville with Rev. Doctor Ross Bartlett officiating . Reception to follow in the church hall.
