Of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary with his family by his side at the age of 75. Born in English Harbour (West) Newfoundland. He was a son of the late Gordon A Evans and Gertrude C (Blagdon). He retired after 35 years of service with the Canadian Coast Guard. He enjoyed fishing and boating and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved son William (Shelley) and daughter Joanne, his dear sister Effie Shirely and her children David and Catherine; his devoted grandchildren Nicole, Ryan, Jillian and Tyler, and great-granddaughter Sophia. Also survived by his partner Carolyn Moore. Predeceased by wife Marilyn and daughter Heather. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Atlantic Funeral Home Sackville Chapel, 125 Sackville Dr. followed immediately with a funeral in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com Sackville Chapel.
