<div itemprop="description"> <strong> Cusack, Darrell Joseph </strong> , (79), of Fall River, NS passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 surrounded by family at Northwood's Ivany Place, Hammonds Plains, NS.&nbsp; Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Richard and Mamie Cusack. He had retired in 1993 from his job of twelve years as wholesale branch manager at G.E. Shnier Company, Dartmouth. Darrell started his long and very successful management career in the flooring industry in 1953 and worked with various companies including W.R. Black of Sydney, Gordon MacKay, Dominion Oilcloth, (Domco), and Venture, Montreal, where he was vice president from 1976 until 1981. During that time he and his family lived in New Brunswick, Quebec, and Nova Scotia while he traveled throughout Canada and made life long friends throughout the industry. Everyone who had the pleasure of working with Darrell enjoyed his intellect, fairness, commitment and always appreciated his great sense of humour, he had the ability to get along with everyone.&nbsp; He was an avid golfer and had been a member of Lingan in Sydney,NS, Riverside in St. John, NB, the Moncton Golf Club, NB, Richelieu Valley, St. Bruno, Quebec and lastly of the Oakfield Golf and Country Club, NS where he was a member for over twenty five years. He had the greatest of times on the golf course meeting many new friends and acquaintances while sharing an activity that he loved. He also participated in curling, bowling and darts over the years and generally enjoyed being active in his spare time. During his time at Ivany Place he could be found involved in most activities as well as advocating for residents and delivering newsletters to others who lived there. He truly enjoyed and cared about the staff and all of the people that he got to know during the two and a half years that he was a resident. His family will be forever grateful for all of the compassion and care given to him during that time and especially in his last few days.&nbsp;His is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Julie, (Sajotovich), formerly of Sydney, NS, daughter, Darlene ,(Halifax, NS), two sons, Allan, (Calgary, AB), and Jeff, (Bedford, NS), along with three daughters in-law, Margot, Trena and Susan. He also leaves behind nine wonderful grandchildren who he bragged about incessantly and who will miss their Papa dearly, Jennifer, Gordon, Patrick, Corey, Melissa, Taylor, Jeffrey, Chelsea, Marcus and one great grandchild, Luca. Also surviving is a sister, Beverley, (Charlie), MacLean of Ontario and many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews who he spent wonderful times with over the years. He was sadly predeceased by his eldest son, Wayne, (Saint Bruno, Quebec), brothers Jackie, Billy and a sister, Elaine, all of Sydney, NS. Darrell will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his best friend Dave, (Rose), Nelson of Lower Sackville, NS whom he loved like a brother and had the best of times with for so many years.&nbsp; Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29th, 2012 at &nbsp;the Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, NS from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a funeral service &nbsp;at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30th, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 9 Jamieson Drive, Fall River, NS with a reception to follow. No flowers by request of the family and donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
