<div itemprop="description">Whitman, Darrell Laverne – Age 82 of Lower Sackville, passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born January 12, 1935 in Waterville, he was the eldest son of the late Ralph Lemuel and Ruth Emeline (Fredericks) Whitman. Darrell worked as a machinist for the Halifax Shipyards his entire career. In his younger years he was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Beverley Jean Marie (Cane) Whitman; his children, Douglas (Beth), Kenneth (Winnie), Trent (Wanda), Carolyn (Dan), Stephen (Kim); brother, Carman; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest brother, Russell. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday February 21st at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville where a memorial service followed by a reception will be held at 2pm Wednesday February 22nd. Interment will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.</div>
