<div itemprop="description">Singer Murray &ldquo;David&rdquo; of Hammonds Plains. It is with deep remorse that the family of Dave Singer announces his peaceful passing on April 21, 2015 at 7:15 pm, 2 months to the day of being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He was born in North Noel Rd, January 26, 1940, to the late Ruth Collier. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marilyn (Parker), daughter Bonnie (Rod Hodder), sons Elvin (Christina) and Jimmy. He is also survived by the love of his life, his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hodder, Brandon Singer, Kyle Singer and Hope Singer, sisters Debbie Collier and Gwen Napier, both of Halifax. He spent 10 years in Massachusetts, in 1974 he and his wife and family moved back to Nova Scotia and Dave formed his own trucking business and was still involved with trucking right up to his passing. Dave was a huge supporter of Bluegrass Festivals in Nova Scotia and was never more happier than when he, Marilyn and Kaitlyn were headed out in their motor home to a Bluegrass Festival. Dave had many favorite bands, but the &ldquo;Spinney Brothers&rdquo; were probably the longest lasting friendship that he formed within the bluegrass community. Dave and Marilyn were awarded a lifetime membership in the Downeast Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Society and were also awarded Fan of the Year in October 2011. In 2013 for their 50th anniversary, They were given airfare for 2 to North Carolina to attend the I.B.M.A.S., this was a dream come true for him. They were good friends to Steve and Nancy Rogeski from Maine who presented them with the airfare and travelled with them. Dave Always said in his relationship with Marilyn that &ldquo;She was his right Arm&rdquo;. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 pm Tuesday April 28, 2015 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr, Lower Sackville. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers welcome, or donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or Downeast Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Association.</div>
