McSweeney, David Terrence – Age 69, of Beaver Bank, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, Thursday September 1, 2016 at the VG Site QEII Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Gerald and Margaret (Lenihan) McSweeney. Left behind are his loving wife, Janet (Hawthorn); son, Chris (Tammy), son, Sean (Lois); daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Christopher, Kristen, Scott, Adam, Blake, Ashton and Colby; great grandson, Jaxon; many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his sisters, Geraldine, Carol, Shirley and Jean; granddaughter, Deborah. David was employed at RCA, London Life and retired from Canada Post. He also managed the Red Fox Tavern along the way. Dave was an avid hunter, hunting guide and fisherman. He loved spending time at the camp in Hubbards, scuba diving, soaking up the sun and spending time with family and friends. Dave was the life of the party. Everyone was always well fed, with a full complement of home brew to wash it down, even if it were the first time you met. No matter where he went, he always managed to run into someone he knew wherever he went and was able to spout out a joke to give them a laugh. Everyone in the family was up to date on the latest sales at the grocery store and fish markets, especially snow crab. He will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched. Raise your glasses for a toast. The family would like to thank the staff of the palliative care 7A Inpatient unit and the VON’s. Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm Wednesday September 7th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, please dress casually. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Craig’s Cause pancreatic cancer society. http://www.craigscause.ca/
Tickety Boo, everything will be okay…
