Debrah "Debbie" Billard
July 18, 1952 - August 20, 2015
Billard (Clee), Debrah Lynn – age 63 of Lower Sackville. Passed away peacefully on August 20, 2015 in St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, after a lengthy battle with liver disease. Born with Neurofibromatosis, Debbie lived a humble life but found many ways to give back to her community. Well known for her selfless acts of kindness, she spent countless hours knitting hats and scarves for various homeless shelters throughout Metro. Her dedication to others was evident in the 20 years she spent as a volunteer at Beacon House. In 2005 Debbie was honoured as ATV’s Maritimer of the Week for her volunteer service to others. When she wasn’t knitting, Debbie enjoyed writing Christmas letters to the children in her building and her family. Debbie leaves to mourn, her pride and joy, and only child, Cory Billard; sisters, Nadene Rose (David), Lorrena Clee, Melanie Moore (Tom), Shelley Clee-Boudreau (Paul) and brother, Dale. Debbie is also survived by step-mother, Shirley Clee, former husband and lifelong friend, Bill Billard and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Orville “Bud” and Muriel (Bosch) Clee and sister, Sharon Bosch. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for their compassion during Debbie’s final journey as well as those who supported and contributed to Debbie’s fundraiser. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday, August 24 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. A Celebration of Life to be held 1pm Wednesday, August 26 in Atlantic Funeral Home with a reception +to follow. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Donations in Debbie`s memory may be made to Neurofibromatosis Society or any local Shelter in the Metro Area.
