<div itemprop="description">CHAFE. Edward Patrick &quot;Ed&quot;, 88 of Lower Sackville, formerly of Sydney, <br />passed away February 13, 2014 at home. Born in Canso, he was the son <br />of the late John R. and Bridget (Bailey) Chafe. Ed was employed by CNR and <br />worked out of Halifax, Havre Boucher, Summerside and the roundhouse <br />in Sydney. He also worked for the World Book Encyclopediaand Amway and <br />was a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He lovedplaying <br />baseball and was an avid hockey player, playing for the Antigonish <br />Rural League. Eddie was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, loved watching curling and <br />was a family man who enjoyed a good game of cards, a feed of lobsters and <br />barbeques surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, <br />Marion E. (Bissett); daughters Helen (John) MacCarron, Lower Sackville, <br />Donna (Rheal) Lafleur, ON, Elizabeth (Peter) Burns, Halifax; sons Patrick <br />(Fran), BC, Dennis (Marion), ON, Donald (Barbara), Lower Sackville, Peter <br />(Jeanette) Port Hawkesbury, Brian (Janice),AB; sister , Sister Stella Chafe <br />CSM, AB; brothers Joe and Ray, ON, Ron, Dartmouth; 15 grandchildren; 9 <br />great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Edward is predeceased by <br />brothers Bob, Bill, Tom, Mike, Bernie, Phonse; sister Mary. Visitation will <br />be held Wednesday , February 19th from 2-4 and7-9 in Atlantic Funeral <br />Home, 125 Sackville Drive. Funeral Mass will be heldThursday 11 am from <br />St. John Vianney RC Church, Father Jamie Utronkieofficiating. A reception <br />will follow in the church hall. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
