Edward Patrick Chafe
June 11, 1925 - February 13, 2014
CHAFE. Edward Patrick "Ed", 88 of Lower Sackville, formerly of Sydney,
passed away February 13, 2014 at home. Born in Canso, he was the son
of the late John R. and Bridget (Bailey) Chafe. Ed was employed by CNR and
worked out of Halifax, Havre Boucher, Summerside and the roundhouse
in Sydney. He also worked for the World Book Encyclopediaand Amway and
was a life-time member of the Knights of Columbus. He lovedplaying
baseball and was an avid hockey player, playing for the Antigonish
Rural League. Eddie was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, loved watching curling and
was a family man who enjoyed a good game of cards, a feed of lobsters and
barbeques surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 67 years,
Marion E. (Bissett); daughters Helen (John) MacCarron, Lower Sackville,
Donna (Rheal) Lafleur, ON, Elizabeth (Peter) Burns, Halifax; sons Patrick
(Fran), BC, Dennis (Marion), ON, Donald (Barbara), Lower Sackville, Peter
(Jeanette) Port Hawkesbury, Brian (Janice),AB; sister , Sister Stella Chafe
CSM, AB; brothers Joe and Ray, ON, Ron, Dartmouth; 15 grandchildren; 9
great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Edward is predeceased by
brothers Bob, Bill, Tom, Mike, Bernie, Phonse; sister Mary. Visitation will
be held Wednesday , February 19th from 2-4 and7-9 in Atlantic Funeral
Home, 125 Sackville Drive. Funeral Mass will be heldThursday 11 am from
St. John Vianney RC Church, Father Jamie Utronkieofficiating. A reception
will follow in the church hall. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, SJV Parish.
