<div itemprop="description">DAKIN, Effie Mae (Raymond) <br>It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Effie peacefully passed away at home on Friday, January 27, 2017 in her 95th year. Born in Centreville, Digby Co, March 24, 1922 to Elijah and Ella Mae (Mailman) Raymond. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Gilbert; they were married for 70 years; her infant daughter; her two brothers; one half-brother; half-sisters. She moved to Lr. Sackville in 1955 where she and Gilbert raised their loving children. Effie was a kind-hearted, selfless and loving woman, she enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, she loved nothing more than her family and spending time with them were the happiest of her life. Effie will be deeply missed by her son Brian (Karen) who lovingly looked after Effie at their home for over 5 years; daughter Sharon (Terry Hamilton); grandson Tyson Hamilton (Traci); granddaughters, Tara, Kaitlyn and Hannah; and 3 great-granddaughters; her dear friends and all who knew her as she has missed all her friends who have passed before her. A visitation will take place on Wednesday February 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service with Ben Isenor officiating at 1 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral home, 125 Sackville Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
