Of Halifax, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the age of 84. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Emma and James “Ted” Hatter. Dawn was the loving mother of Bill (Mary), Dawn (Gary Grandy), Sherri (Roy Paavola), Crystal Hiltz and Tanya (John Leet); cherished grandmother of Steven, Robert, Bruce, Gordie, Ryan, Jennifer, Christopher, Tegan, Amanda and Stephen. She will be deeply missed by several great-grandchildren; dear daughter-in-law Amanda Walsh; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She will be forever remembered by William Awalt Sr. Dawn was predeceased by her beloved son James. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of the QEII 8.4 for their incredible care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. For those wishing, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be appreciated. Family flowers only please.
