Skinner (McIntosh), Heather Marie – age 59 of Lower Sackville. Passed away on June 13th, 2014 at the QEII VG Site, Palliative Care.
Born in Halifax, N.S. She was the daughter of late Rayford McIntosh, grandparents Thomas and Gladys McIntosh. Heather is survived by her loving husband, Doug and only daughter, Ashley. She is also survived by her three cousins, who she considered as her sisters, Shirley, Darlene, and Karen. She graduated from Sackville High School and was employed 34 years with the Daily News and Transcontinental. Her happiest times were spent with her family; Aunt Marg & Uncle Ron; nephews, Raymond (Josee) and Jim (Stefanee) and their families. She enjoyed spending time with her grand nieces and nephews that she adored like her own children. When not spending time with her many cousins, nieces and nephews, she was very passionate about her reading, knitting, playing baseball, and shopping with her daughter. She will always be remembered for the support, care, and love that she provided for all of her family members. She is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 7 - 9 pm on Monday, June 16; with a funeral service 10 am Tuesday, June 17 both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Burial will follow in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.
The family would like to thank VG Site Palliative Care and Chemotherapy units for their great support and care. Special thanks to Tina her nurse who took great care of her. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
