<div itemprop="description">Fougere, Joseph Ernest &ndash; Age 91, of Mount Uniacke, passed away peacefully Sunday April 24th, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. Born in Port Hawkesbury, May 4th, 1924, he was the son of the late, William and Mae (LeBlanc) Fougere, of Janvrin&rsquo;s Island, Isle Madame. Joseph served in the Second World War overseas in Europe, United Kingdom, Mediterranean, in units of Cape Breton Highlanders and West Nova Scotia Regiment 1st Division. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #165 and a long-time member of Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughters, Trudy (Gary) Connick, Bridgewater, Tina (Bruce) Lynch, Mount Uniacke, Tara Fougere (Fred) Norwood, Ontario, Denise (Al) Wilson, Alberta; sons, Tom (Debby), Terry (Carolyn), both of Mount Uniacke, Jim (Charlene), Bedford, Patrick, Ontario; sisters, Mary Thelma Manson, Halifax, Edith (Chuck) Burton, New Glasgow, Theresa Hill, Janvrin&rsquo;s Island; brother, Fred (Carol) Fougere, Janvrin&rsquo;s Island; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joseph was also predeceased by brothers, Herman, Charles and Eldred Fougere; sisters, Evelyn LeBlanc, Margaret Knickle, Jean Muise and Mabel &amp; Edna (both in infancy). A gathering in honour of Dad&rsquo;s memory will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday April 27th at Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Mount Uniacke where a funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday April 28th, Father Marc Syrenne officiating. A private family interment will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. A special thanks to the staff of I.C.U. 5.2 at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. A very heartfelt thank you to Helena. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice. <br /> <br /></div>
