Ingram, Kenneth James “Ken”-76, of Halifax. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Ken Ingram on April 17th, 2014 at the QEII Halifax infirmary.
Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late Winthrop ”Wimpy” and Gladys (Harvey) Ingram.
Ken grew up in Woodville, where he worked on the family farm. He was an avid woodsman who loved the land and appreciated the simple things in life. Ken moved to Lower Sackville with his sweetheart Julie to raise their family. He worked at Moosehead Breweries for 30 years. One of Ken’s favourite pastimes was “tinkering” in his garage on small engines but he never hesitated to set his project aside, anytime friends and family dropped by for a visit. Ken cherished many happy retirement years at his cottage with Julie, his children, grandchildren and extended circle of family and friends. He was a wise and caring man who never stopped learning.
He is survived by daughter, Patti (Mark) Galbraith; sons, Ken Ingram, Kevin (Kathryn) Ingram; sisters, Ce (Lance) White, Irene (John) Muir; brothers, Alvin (Rita) Ingram, Austin Ingram; grandchildren, Jake and Ben Galbraith, Leanne, Melanie, James and Mitchell Ingram, many special nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Julie (Organ); sisters-in-law, Barb (Murray) Ingram, and Elizabeth Mary (Moore) Ingram.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday April 27th from 2-5pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. The funeral service will take place in St. Francis by the Lake Anglican Church, 192 First Lake Drive, Lower Sackville on Monday April 28th at 11am, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cobequid Community Health Centre. Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com, Sackville Chapel.
