Kenneth Walter Curran
March 15, 1933 - July 7, 2013
Curran, Kenneth Walter – 80 of Bedford, Nova Scotia passed away July 7, 2013 suddenly from a heart attack. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Francis and Anastasia Curran. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather. Kenneth was a hardworking and honest man. Kenny retired with 40 plus years of dedicated service to Canadian Tire on Quinpool Road, as the Service Manager and was an example of what it meant to look after a customer. He forged many relationships over those 470 years many of whom have kept in contact with him. Upon retiring from Canadian Tire, Ken not one to sit idle ironically chose to drive taxi for Canso Taxi of Halifax and again forged many relationships. To us our father has left us with the true definition of what it meant to be a hard working loyal employee. Ken greatest legacy is his 6 grandchildren whom he adored, Devin, Brad, Justin, Lee, Allison and Amanda. We know he has found the peace he so deserves.
Kenneth is survived by his three sons; Ronald (Ellen) Hammonds Plains, Randy (Angela) Bedford and Scott (Jackie) Middle Sackville, and their mother, Ruth Arnold. Two sisters; Carol (Mrs. Arnold Weaver) and Linda and two brothers, Jack and Dave (Mary), as well as, 6 grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy and Shirley and his brother Frank.
A funeral service will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville on July 12, 2013 at 11 am. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery with a reception to follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
