Gagnon, Mary Agnes- It is with great sadness that we announce Mom's passing on March 11, 2015 at the Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield. Mom was born in Quincy, Mass. to Edward and Geneva Culbert (Craig) on April 27, 1932. Mom was the last surviving member of her family. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Geneva Culbert (Craig), her husband, and our Dad, Frank, brothers Eugene (Rowena), Charles (Sylvia), Harold (Doreena), sisters Evelyn(David), Anne Marie (infancy). Mom was a classy lady who was loved by all who met her. She was a devoted Catholic and loved her Church, St. Ignatius, Bedford. As her disease started to take hold of her, she was unable to attend Mass but prior to her illness she seldom missed a service. Mom grew up in New Brunswick,(where she met Dad), as a young woman for McCain Foods in Florenceville, N.B. Mom and Dad moved to Nova Scotia where they resided in Bedford and raised their family. Mom worked part-time throughout most of her life, as a young women she worked for McCain, Tasty Freeze, Klines, Lawton's Drug Store and finally at the Post Office for Lawton's at Sunnyside Mall. She also helped out at the Church in many ways, the last volunteeingr to count weekly offerings. She also volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society. Mom is survived by her 5 daughters, Diane Cunning (Rick), Debbie White (Wade), Kathy Stevens (Brian), Annette Murphy (Jerry) and Joyce Howse ( the late Perry). She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and was so proud of each and everyone of them, Michael, Travis (Katie), Melissa (Mark), Alyson (Jason), Hilary and Trevor. They will always cherish the fun times they had with both Mom and Dad, from trips to Florida, Spain and all the special holidays shared by all. Mom is also survived by her great grand children, Hayden and Spencer and her extended family of grandkids and their families Nicole`O`Brien (Craig), Kevin White (Marianne), Dennis, Kelly, Stephen and Caralee Murphy. Mom kept a spotless house and as young girls we remember the early Saturday mornings waking up to the vacuum cleaner. Mom loved to cook and you would find her every Saturday morning baking bread, cookies and donuts. To us, Mom will be remembered for her love of travel anywhere a car or plane would take her. Mom and Dad loved to travel with all of us as well as their good friends Jean and Eric Shepherd and Anne and Phil Stuart. You could also find them on many a Saturday night the six of them playing Skiboo. Mom, you are now travelling around the world with Dad... Mom`s remains have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. There will be no visitation by request.
