Norma Gertrude Walker
November 23, 1930 - April 11, 2012
Walker, Norma Gertrude (Verge), died April 11, 2012 at Twin Oaks Memorial
Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour. Born in Wolfville November 23, 1930, she
was daughter of the late Norman Levi and Hilda Belle Verge. She married
John (Bud) Walker in 1955, they purchased their first home in Halifax, and later,
built a summer place in East Petpeswick, the space on earth Norma loved
best. Their lives in East Petpeswick had a special significance, always, for Norma
and Bud, as well as for their two sons Mark and Bobby - they all loved and
enjoyed time spent there. Norma was adept in sewing, knitting, quilting,
crocheting, and all things culinary. She and Bud enjoyed a wide range of
friends wherever they resided. They both loved to dance and of course spent
many hours in hockey rinks while their two sons played the game they all
enjoyed so much. Norma was a much loved member of her family and her
presence will be greatly missed. She was possessed of a loving and caring nature
- a fun person to be with, and most generous with her time and many talents.
She is survived by son Mark (Deb), Saint John, NB and Robert (Cathy) with
whom she lived in East Petpeswick, grandchildren Laura and Brett, Halifax,
Ryan (Krista) and Andrew, Bridgewater, Adam, Halifax, great-grandchildren
Brooklyn, Isabelle and Windsor, sister Jean (Gordon) Bradley, Halifax,
brother-in-law Val Hermiston, BC, nieces Sheila Lehr and Glenda Woznica,
BC, nephews David (Sue) Bradley, Halifax, and Robert (Lorna) Halifax,
grand-nice Georgia Bradley, Halifax. Norma is predeceased by her husband
Bud, sister Marion Hermiston, nephews Graham and Carter Butler.
