<div itemprop="description">Walker, Norma Gertrude (Verge), died April 11, 2012 at Twin Oaks Memorial <br /> Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.&nbsp; Born in Wolfville November 23, 1930, she <br /> was daughter of the late Norman Levi and Hilda Belle Verge.&nbsp; She married <br /> John (Bud) Walker in 1955, they purchased their first home in Halifax, and later, <br /> built a summer place in East Petpeswick, the space on earth Norma loved <br /> best. Their lives in East Petpeswick had a special significance, always, for Norma <br /> and Bud, as well as for their two sons Mark and Bobby - they all loved and <br /> enjoyed time spent there.&nbsp; Norma was adept in sewing, knitting, quilting, <br /> crocheting,&nbsp; and all things culinary.&nbsp; She and Bud enjoyed a wide range of <br /> friends wherever they resided.&nbsp; They both loved to dance and of course spent <br /> many hours in hockey rinks while their two sons played the game they all <br /> enjoyed so much. Norma was a much loved member of her family and her <br /> presence will be greatly missed.&nbsp; She was possessed of a loving and caring nature <br /> &nbsp;- a fun person to be with, and most generous with her time and many talents. <br /> She is survived&nbsp;by son Mark (Deb), Saint John, NB and Robert (Cathy) with <br /> whom she lived in East Petpeswick, grandchildren Laura and Brett, Halifax, <br /> Ryan (Krista) and Andrew, Bridgewater, Adam, Halifax, great-grandchildren <br /> Brooklyn, Isabelle and Windsor, sister Jean (Gordon) Bradley, Halifax, <br /> brother-in-law Val Hermiston, BC,&nbsp;&nbsp; nieces Sheila Lehr and Glenda Woznica, <br /> BC, nephews David (Sue) Bradley, Halifax, and Robert (Lorna) Halifax, <br /> grand-nice Georgia Bradley, Halifax.&nbsp;&nbsp; Norma is predeceased by her husband <br /> Bud, sister Marion Hermiston, nephews Graham and Carter Butler. <br /> Many thanks are extended for the caring, wonderful support of Twin Oaks <br /> Hospital.&nbsp; Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Monday, <br /> April 16 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville <br /> Drive, Sackville, NS where funeral service will be on Tuesday 2 pm,&nbsp; Rev. <br /> James Haughn officiating.&nbsp; Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.&nbsp; Reception <br /> to be held in the Funeral Home following the service.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers <br /> donations may be made to Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Foundation Continuing <br /> Care Nursing Department, Musquodoboit Harbour, NS.&nbsp; On-line condolences may <br /> be sent by visiting website www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </div>
