<div itemprop="description">It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the passing of Owen Patrick Marriott, of Riverview NB (age 14), on Friday August 26, 2016 at the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax NS.<br>Owen was born at the IWK on January 23, 2002 to Donald Craig and Kerry Lynn (Brake) Marriott. He is survived by his older brother Benjamin (1998) and younger brother Ryan (2004). Owen will be missed by his best friends Cameron Teal, Jackson Black, and Pierce Francoeur; as well as his many other friends and family. He resided in Lr. Sackville NS until 2005 at which time he moved to Pasadena NL . He started school at Pasadena Elementary. After moving to Riverview NB in 2009 he attended Frank L. Bowser Elementary and most recently Riverview Middle School. At the time of passing he was scheduled to start Grade 9 at Horton High School in NS.<br>Owen had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid reader and enjoyed many genres of books. He also enjoyed movies, television, video games and could usually be found online with his friends. Owen tried many new sports during his life including curling, golf, downhill skiing, baseball, basketball, rugby and others. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Sea Cadets 292 Coverdale. Owen also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking in the woods, having a bonfire on the beach, and going fishing and quading with his Poppy in NL. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his parents and brothers, Roxy the dog, and cats Casey and Finnegin. Owen was looking forward to starting a new chapter of his life in Wolfville NS.<br>Owen is survived by is parents Craig and Kerry, as well as maternal grandparents Pat and Debbie Brake (Kippens NL); his two brothers Ben and Ryan; Paternal aunts and uncles Patricia Gallant, Dr. Gary (Jeannie) Gallant, Ronald (Maria) Gallant, Lori (John Lathrop) Gallant, Bruce Marriott, Cindy (Bernard) Jussup, Glenn (Beverly) Marriott, Kathy (Rick) Lunn and David (Theresa) Marriott; Maternal aunts and uncle Craig (Dana Stadler) Brake, Virginia (Patrick Wilson) Brake, and Wendy (Glen AuCoin) Brake; his many cousins; and lifelong family friend Shelley Morgan Teal and family.<br>He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Donald and Marjorie (Johnson-Gallant) Marriott and paternal uncle Jeffrey (Ann) Marriott.<br>A special thank you to the staff of the IWK Children’s Hospital especially Family Care Coordinator Sarah Ross, ICU staff, the oncology doctors, and nurses and staff of 6 Link and 6 North. Your support during this time was greatly appreciated.<br>A celebration of Owen’s life will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 934 Old Sackville Road on Thursday, September 1 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow the service.
