<div itemprop="description">MILLER, Raymond <br>Of Fall River, passed away May 14, 2016 at the age of 82. Born in Halifax, NS Aug 12, 1933 to Frank and Marian (Boyle) Miller, Ray spent his high school years in Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co, where he had many successful sporting competitions, winning most points at the 1950 Lawrencetown Track meet. He enjoyed the time spent there in the company of his cousins Phillip, David and Mary Hope. Ray joined the Airforce in 1953 and trained at St Jeans, Que. Stationed in Clinton, Falconbridge, Trenton, Resolute, Edmonton, Rockcliffe, Marville France (1 Wing), Baden-Sollingen (4 Wing), and CFB Halifax. While in Ottawa he played for senior fastball team, Roy's Cleaners in Hull, Quebec. After retiring in 1976 Ray went on to a career in real estate and land development (Schwarzwald and Beech Hill in Fall River). Ray enjoyed geology and his rock collections, enjoying many weekends at Parrsboro and other sites looking for minerals and fossils. A highlight was in helping excavate Mastodon bones found at the Milford Gypsum mine in the early '90's with museum curator Bob Grantham. Ray enjoyed life: whale-watching, hot air balloon rides, parasailing and rooting for his favourite race car driver. Left to grieve are wife Debbie (Parker) Miller, brother Frank (Mary) Miller, Fall River, sons Brent (June Roberts) Fall River and Michael B.C and daughter Karen Fall River, as well as grand-daughter Shannon, Halifax, NS and several great grandchildren. Pre deceased by son Robert, B.C.<br>A visitation will be held on Sunday May 22, 2016 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr, Lr Sackville from 1 – 4 p.m. Private family funeral at a later date.
