PETRELLA, Remo
Age 59, of Halifax, died Sunday peacefully holding a family photo in one hand and his daughter’s hand in the other in the VG Site, QEII. His suffering is over after losing his battle with cancer. Remo was born in Pratola Pelingna, Italy to the late Panfilo and Cristina (Presutti) Petrella. He made the journey across the seas to Canada with his parents and brother in 1967. He lived a very full life with many friends and good times along the way. He was tremendously proud of the way his children have lived their lives and will forever be their guardian angel. He is survived by his brother, Giuseppe Petrella; children, Michael (Trina), Cristina (Jonathan), Ryan, and Giuliano; and grandchildren, Logan, Zackery, and Joshua as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Halifax, Toronto, New York, and Italy. The family would like to thank his many friends for being there for him during the final stage of his life and the wonderful staff of 7A V.G. Site who did all they could to make sure he and his family were comfortable. There will be a private family funeral service and interment on Thursday. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of his life following the interment in the Corner Pocket 3434 Dutch Village Rd. from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 5th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. On-line condolences may be sent to Atlantic Funeral Homes, Sackville Chapel. www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com
