<div itemprop="description">Davies, Stephen William - age 65, of East Uniacke, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 15, 1950 in Halifax, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Hardy) Davies. Steve worked for the Canadian Coast Guard retiring with 34 1/2 years of service. More importantly he was a husband, father and grandfather. Steve loved to cook for his family and friends and his children have followed in his footsteps. He also enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter. The spring, summer and fall were special times spent at their cottage on Lewis Lake. Steve will be sadly missed by family, friends and his beloved wife of 41 years, Joan (Hobin); his children Angela (Richard) McCormack of Ontario; Jeffrey of Sackville, N.S.; grandsons, Liam and Luke McCormack and brother, Brian (Bernice) and nephew, Scott and niece, Lisa. <br />The family would like to thank for all their wonderful care his family doctor, Dr. Tsedale Gebre-Heywot; Dr. Mary MacNeil of Capital Health (Dickson Centre); Amber Phillips, RN and Elinor MacPhee, RN of the Hants Community Hospital and especially all of our wonderful family and friends who have been so supportive during this time. <br />Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am Wednesday December 30th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Father Jamie Utronkie officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.</div>
