<div itemprop="description">CAMPBELL, Vincent Joseph &ldquo;Vince&rdquo;, 89 of Waverley, passed away on February 27, 2016 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.<br />Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late James and Bessie (McPhee) Campbell.<br />Vince joined the RCAF on his eighteenth birthday in 1945. After a brief career in the air force, he transitioned to a new career as an Air Traffic Controller. He worked in this field for many years, retiring from the position of Chief Air Traffic Controller at Halifax International Airport in 1982. He later worked for nearly 10 years as a sales representative for Basin Stationary, until his second retirement. Vince and Madalyn treasured many summers spent with family at the cottage in Cape Breton. He loved curling, gardening, and really enjoyed boating and fly fishing all over Nova Scotia. He loved photography and taking his nephews to sporting events, especially soccer.<br />He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Madalyn (Parnell); sons, Donald &ldquo;Scott&rdquo;, Ottawa, Ont., Tim (Tina), Lower Sackville; grandchildren Andrew and Ashley; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.<br />He was predeceased by his siblings, George, Margaret, and James.<br />Visitation will be held on Thursday March 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. <br />The funeral service will take place at 11 am on Saturday March 5, in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow.
