<div itemprop="description"> <p> ROACHE, Warren Joseph &ldquo;Rusty,&rdquo; was born April 10, 1932 in Halifax, NS.&nbsp; Rusty was a long-time resident of both Lower Sackville and East River, NS. He passed away peacefully in the palliative care unit at the VG hospital on August 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Rusty was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 44, and a member of the Royal Canadian Army RCHA. He was employed for many years with Hoyt&rsquo;s Moving &amp; Storage, and Simpsons, which later became The Hudson Bay Company. Rusty was gentle, quiet man who loved country music.&nbsp; He was known for his talents of singing and playing the guitar.&nbsp; He began his musical career on the All Star Western Vaudeville show with the Bill Lynch Travel Shows. &nbsp;From there he had a great deal of musical success including regular performances on CBC radio with the Black Mountain Boys and later with The Downeasters on CBC television during the 50&rsquo;s and 60&rsquo;s. &nbsp;Rusty then headed his own group called &ldquo;Rusty and the Jewels&rdquo;, and they released an album in 1971. &nbsp;Most recently he performed with a fellow musician as &ldquo;Rusty and Ron&rdquo; from the South Shore. &nbsp;He was inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.&nbsp; His voice and his Martin guitar pleased thousands over the years. &nbsp;He also loved horses and farming. Rusty was the son of Walter and Mary (nee Slaunwhite) Roache. &nbsp;His wife of 34 years, Ramona Mary &ldquo;Mona&rdquo;; his son, Randy; his brothers Thomas, Walter, Jim &lsquo;Tex&rdquo;, and Clifford; and his sister Sheila have all predeceased him. Rusty will be dearly missed by long-time companion, Janet Hall of East River, NS.&nbsp; Survivors include three sons and a daughter:&nbsp; Kevin (Carol), New Orleans, LA; Wayne (Heather), Nine Mile River, NS; Duane (Sheri), Beaver Bank, NS; and Sandra (Clyde Redmond), Lower Sackville, NS. &nbsp;He is also survived by nine grandchildren:&nbsp; Scott, Amanda, Jamie, Brendan and Colten Roache, Tammy Rhyno (Ken), Corrine Brunet (Scott), Amanda Walsh (Anthony), and Daniel Gibson.&nbsp; There are four great-grandchildren:&nbsp; Dylan, Tyler, Matthew, and Holly.&nbsp; Additionally, Rusty&rsquo;s sisters, Mary Ryckman, Las Vegas, NV and Marilyn Buckoski, Eastern Passage, NS and several nieces and nephews [including &nbsp;special nephew, Randy Roache (Cheryl)] , His extended Family; Margaret(Kevin), Scott, Andrew(Melanie), Liam, Issac and Luke survive him .Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday August 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville&nbsp; where funeral service will be on Tuesday at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
