<div itemprop="description">FAULKNER, Wayne William<br />Age 73, after a brave battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at his home on Springfield Lake, Middle Sackville, on June 8th. Formerly of Fairview, he was the son of the late Bill and Etta Faulkner. Wayne spent many happy years enjoying the great outdoors, hunting and fishing around the province, and boating on Springfield Lake. Known for his crazy antics and storytelling, he was always the life of the party, especially when he pulled out his guitar. In his early years, Wayne played hockey for the Fairview Aces, and also played Senior A Baseball in Halifax. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Colleen (Moir), two sons Craig and Scott, five adoring grandchildren Megan, Brandon, Madison, Cameron and Abby and two sisters Sandra Leonard and Janet Dorey. Special thanks to Dr. Aidan Carey, whose compassionate care and home visits far exceeded the call of duty. Also, heartfelt appreciation for Elenitsa Bucknell (Nitsa) - We Care Home Health Services, Kristy White and Kim Spurell - VON, Paul Rhindress - Capital Health Home Care Coordinator, Barbara Stewart - Palliative Care, and Dr. Robyn MacFarlane &ndash; QEII Division of Medical Oncology. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Memorial Service will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville drive, Lower Sackville at 2pm on Thursday June 12th, 2014. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Childrens&rsquo; Wish Foundation.<br /><br /></div>
