Carole Elizabeth Purdy

PURDY, Carole Elizabeth, 70 of Lower Sackville, passed away October 3rd, 2015 at the Cobequid Multi-Service Centre. Born in Windsor, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Vera (Trimble) and Gerald Humber. Carole moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia with her family in 1982. She owned and operated First Memories Daycare for 18 years in Lower Sackville. Carole was a family counsellor for Oakridge Memory Gardens for 15 years. She was a kind, giving generous soul, who brought out the best in others. She will be remembered fondly as” Nanny Carole” to the many children whose lives she touched. Carole is survived by daughter Janyt (Terry) Spencer, Beaver Bank, son, Jasen Purdy, Kentville; much adored grandchildren Brandon, Andrew, James, Sarah, Austen, Jessica, Madison; beloved great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; cousin Charles Ritchier and several nieces an nephews. She is predeceased by her husband R. J., who she missed dearly; brother, James S. Humber. Visitation will be held Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 in Atlantic Funeral home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville where the funeral will be held Friday 1 pm. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
