<div itemprop="description">Slaunwhite, Darlene Denise<br>Age 57 of Bedford, passed away suddenly with her family at her side on December 12, 2016 at the QEII Health Sciences Center. <br>Darlene was the devoted wife and best friend to her husband of 37 years, George, and the proud mother to three daughters, Kira (Gordie), Heather (Trevor), Shealynn (Justin) and grandmother to six, who gave her the motivation to fight on, Haylie (13), Cameron (10), Myles (10), Brooklyn (8), Sadie (2), Rylan (10 months), she is also survived by her two brothers of Halifax. She truly lived for her grandchildren, helping raise each one of them. She couldn’t have been prouder and when she was able, would always be there to watch them play sports, sing at Christmas concerts, or her littlest ones’ birthday parties and christenings. <br>After many years of battling her own health, Darlene persevered, and had her dream of a Hawaiian vacation realized in the spring of this year. Darlene will be also remembered for her family meals and her many ‘TV shows’. Darlene is predeceased by her mother, Ellen; father, Harry; brothers, Tommy, Everett, Roger; sister, Jeanette. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of floor 8.3 at the QEII for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Friday, December 16 at 2 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
