JOUDREY, Myrtle “Mae”
Of Beaver Bank. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nan, great-nan and nanny Mae at the age of 97. Born in Beaver Bank she was a daughter of the late George Lively and Alena (Schunaman). Mom was the 13th and last surviving member of 15 children, she loved to travel extensively and she was well known for her terrific hand at embroidery and sewing; her baking was legend, especially around the holiday seasons which was looked forward to by the entire family. We have great memories of our mother working with patients and staff at Scotia Nursing Home as a PCW in Beaver Bank. Mom was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beaver Bank for many years and she enjoyed music especially Jam Nights at Sagewood. Survived by daughters Olive Alena Jollimore, Sackville Sheila Mary Lane (Gordon) Truro, son Wayne Dennis Joudrey (Carolyn) Alberta, grandchildren Denise Quick (Brian) Winnipeg, Leanne Bachinsky (Michael), Derek Joudrey (Denise) all of Alberta, great-grandchildren Paige-Marie Quick, Kaegin Dennis Joudrey, Harrison, and Spencer Bachinsky, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family, Michelle (Duncan), Melani, Angela, Todd (Debbie), Ashley, Josh, Breanne, Jacob, Sydney and Erin. Predeceased by her husband Dennis, brothers, Sinclair, Jack, Robert, Victor, Merle, Earl, Gerald and Howard; sisters, Pearl, Olive, Alice, Flossie and two sisters in infancy. A special thank you to the staff at Sagewood for their wonderful care and compassion towards mom, we can’t thank everyone individually but she wanted to thank you all, especially to Dr. Andrea Jean MacDonald. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Lr. Sackville. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 24 at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Beaver Bank. Burial to follow service in the church cemetery.
