<div itemprop="description">Nickerson, Sara Jean &ndash; with great sadness, the family of Sara (Anderson) Nickerson wish to announce her passing on Thursday June 25th, 2015 at the age of 96. Sara was born February 27th, 1919 in Four Falls, New Brunswick to George LeBaron Anderson and Nora (Gunter) Anderson. Sara spent her early years primarily in Perth-Andover, New Brunswick. On April 8, 1943 she married Herbert Frederick Nickerson. Sara spent her married years living in numerous communities throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia as Herbert was transferred to new postings with the Bank of Montreal. In 1972, Sara and Herbert retired to a new home in Woodstock, New Brunswick. After the passing of Herbert in 2005 Sara continued to live in their Woodstock home for several years before deciding to move to Halifax to be closer to family. She lived in Parkland (Cameron Hall) Clayton Park until 2014. In 2015 Sara relocated to Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, Eastern Passage where the compassionate staff made her final days as comfortable as possible. Sara was predeceased by her husband, Herbert (2005); son, Kenneth Everett Nickerson (1960); sister, Margaret (Anderson) Andrews (2013); son-in-law, Robert O&rsquo;Neill (2014). Sara is survived by her sister, Chris (Anderson) Hargrove, Perth-Andover, NB; daughter, Jean (Nickerson) O&rsquo;Neill, Lower Sackville; son, Douglas Nickerson (Jeri), Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Catherine O&rsquo;Neill (Patrick), Jeffrey O&rsquo;Neill (Kate), James Nickerson, Kevin Nickerson as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Cremation has taken place interment will follow in Perth-Andover, NB at a later date.</div>
