<div itemprop="description">GERMON, Christina Rose <br> <br>Christina Rose Germon, of Sydney, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 2, 2017 at Sagewood Nursing Home. She was born in Niagara Falls, ON on May 5, 1949, daughter of the late Frank and Eileen (Drover) Coombes. Christina grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia. <br>Christina was an avid crafter. She was always in the process of knitting, crocheting, painting or quilting. For 10 years Christina was a partner in a successful ceramics business in Antigonish. Christina was extremely involved in the Boy Scouts in Antigonish. She was also a leader in Girl Guides, Beavers and Cubs, and was a trainer for Leaders in the Boy Scout Movement. <br>She was elected to serve a term on the Strait Regional School Board during their early days after amalgamation. <br>Christina is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy Germon, Sydney, NS; daughter, Rhonda (Doug) Langille, Lower Sackville; sons, Roy (Petra) Germon, Ottawa and Ron (Kelly) Germon, Edmonton. She is also survived by her sister, Susan (Fred) Sampson, Marathon, ON and brother, Alan (Theresa) Coombes, Windsor, NS. <br>The joy in her later years were her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also very proud of her nieces and nephews and their families. <br>She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Coombes, of Enfield, NS. <br>The family would like to give special thanks to all of the wonderful staff from St Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, NS, and Sagewood Nursing Home, Lower Sackville, NS who enhanced her stay and made her comfortable. <br>Memorial service to be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Saint Francis By The Lake, 192 First Lake Dr, Lower Sackville, NS with a Meet and Greet to follow in the church hall. Burial at a later date. <br>Family flowers only.
